Have you enjoyed a large concert or festival event in the last several years? If so you have probably had the pleasure of hearing a higher quality production. The question that needs to be asked is how did we get here. How did sound companies excel and conquer the current 'best practice' in large–scale PA? How have they evolved, in the past years and how did we go from there to here.?

But the walls and ceiling are very likely to be reflective, so the more sound that goes in these directions, the more mush–inducing reflections will be created. Sounds simple right? It may seem simple but this general theory is ignored all too often.

We could go into a scientific explanation of how sound works in relation to distance, wattage etc. but safe to say modern PA systems have come a long way and the beneficiaries are the public (it saves their hearing) and the engineers as they no longer need as much gear to fill a room with quality sound.
